A A A
Internationally-known television actor David Hasselhoff just placed his home - dubbed the "Fortress of Hoffitude" - on the market.

His five bedroom, six bath, Encino, California home is on the market for $3.5 million red Speedos, err, dollars.

For a man flashy enough to sport a sequined jacket, his home, the "Fortress of Hoffitude," sure does disappoint. Did he trade his surf board for the entire catalog of Crate and Barrel? Take a look...

Sure, when you stage your home for sale the general recommendation is beige and boring. But Hasselhoff? He's taken predictable interiors to heart. Perhaps we should remember he hosted "America's Got Talent,", not "America's Got Taste."

For example:

A completely beige kitchen. He probably never eats whole grains or oats. How could he, if he can't see them against this beige room?

A palm-tree-frond fan in his dining room? No international actor -- certainly no one with a house at this price point --should have fixtures available to the unfilmed masses. That's a rule.

Finally, what's up with this boring, beige media room? The only unique detail seems to be the fur-covered footstool.

One thing the "Fortress of Hoffitude" does have going for it? Lush, and lovely, exteriors. Thumbs up there. Take a virtual tour of the entire estate here -- but be warned, turn off your speakers. The sappy music will make you wish you were a drowning character on "Baywatch" -- just to end the misery.

I agree. It looks like the inside of a 90's off the rack motor home.

The writer is so boringly straight....The house is stunningly Gorgeous
I would add at least a quarter mil. just for the sarcastic article on the house of the Hoff.

I am in COMPLETE agreement!!! This estate - inside and out - is
AWESOME!!! The colors are perfect; as is the entire "Fortress of Hoffitude"!!! I would not want the author of the article to decorate anything for me!!!

I guess the writer has a better home. Anyway, I think most people would love to just spend a day there.

Just who do you think you are? Has Hollywood so distorted your perception and turned you into such a snob that you don't recognize a beautiful home when you see it? Any home may not meet the buyer's individual taste but that can be changed. The home is beautifully structured, elegant and wonderful. I applaud Mr. Haselhoff for selling it in the great condition it is in. Instead of looking inside of this home and criticizing it through the eyes of a spoiled snot, suppose you get real and appreciate it for what it is.....Let's stay real here.......there are millions of people in Haiti who would love to just sleep under the slide to the pool and call it home and lots more right here who would join them. Shame on you for your comments.

There are so many people in this world who would love to have that house. Yes, white sinks and light oak and all. Look around you at people who live in dumps or on the street and ask them if they wouldn't enjoy a house like that!

Like I have said on occassion, " If you don't like my house, then don't come in."

Lisa, tell me how you can see this homes beautiful structure. And lets stick to the subject here. This is not an article about Haiti or a time to reflect on how lucky we should all consider ourselves. I might add, just who do you think you are to give us all a lecture?

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE PERSON WHO WROTE THIS ARTICLE WAS THINKING BUT THAT IS A GORGEOUS HOME! YOU CAN GIVE IT TO ME AND I WOULD NOT COMPLAIN EVER. I LOVED THE WHOLE HOUSE AND EVEN THE GUEST HOME WAS NICE...GOSH, WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE PERSON WHO WROTE THIS TO SAY WHAT THEY DID ABOUT THAT HOUSE, THE COLORS OF THE ROOMS ETC? IT IS GORGEOUS. I ONLY WISH I WAS SO LUCKY TO LIVE IN SOMETHING SO NICE! AT THE SAME TIME I VIEWED THE PICS I ALSO WONDERED IF THIS WAS THE HOME THE HOFF LIVED IN WITH HIS FAMILY BEFORE HIS MARRIAGE WENT BAD? IF SO, BAD MEMORIES FOR HIM I WOULD SUPPOSE. OTHERWISE, IT SEEMS A BIG BIG FOR ONE PERSON TO LIVE IN NOW....BUT WHAT A HOUSE!!!

I like to live in an attractive home, and I have a tiny place but it is plain with bright accessories.

I don't see anything wrong with David's house, it is beautiful outside and I love the modern colonial exterior, long driveway, etc.

The interior is quite lovely, has some mixes, but it looks comfortable, and the average Joe would be delighted to live there rent free for a week. This has good bones, so decorate the way you want. Light colored walls are fine as he has hardwood floors and dark wood.

It is rumored that the writer of the article (Katie McCaskey) lives in a double wide trailer behind a Walmart in San Jose. Show us your house Katie if it's so much better than David Hasselhoffs'. Lest they no be judged.
