In addition, he has conducted extensive research into enterprise AI adoption, MLOps, emerging ML and AI platforms, and other enabling technologies.
Barbara’s academic research explores how organizations generate business value from data assets. She has deep expertise in data and analytics techniques and technologies, with particular interest in data and analytics strategy, capabilities, and success.
Barbara leads the MIT CISR Data Research Advisory Board, comprised of data and analytics executives from CISR organizations. The board prioritizes, informs, and participates in data research activities in ways that influence findings and insights at MIT CISR and in the broader global academic community.
Prior to joining MIT CISR, Barbara enjoyed a fifteen-year academic career at the University of Virginia.

Peter van der Putten is the Director for AI Solutions at Pega. He helps enterprise clients getting closer to their customers and optimize their business processes through AI powered digital business transformation. This includes using trustworthy AI for engaging customers 1:1, anticipating and proactively solving service issues, and maximizing efficiency and effectiveness in business workflows. Peter also launches new AI business offerings at Pega, and drives AI research and culture. Peter is also an assistant professor in AI at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
