Callaway is an unincorporated community in Callaway County, Missouri. The community was located approximately two miles south of Kingdom City and just west of U.S. Route 54 . The site was on the Chicago and Alton Railroad and on the north bank of Richland Creek .
Clinton County is county located in the U.S. state of Missouri and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. [1] As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the county had a population of 21,184. [2] Its county seat is Plattsburg. [3] The county was organized January 2, 1833, and named for Governor DeWitt Clinton of New York.
The map on the 2nd page of the atlas published in 1876 still shows the much larger Liberty Township boundaries, which had just been changed at the end of 1875. [5] Whereas the map from 1930 shows a smaller Liberty Township, which appears to approximate today's boundaries.
The settlement later took on the name Saint Aubert around the time a post office was built there in 1849. Official Callaway County maps of 1876 show St. Aubert, which was also the name of its township area. The town was still referred to as Saint Aubert when Livingston's "History of Northeast Missouri" went to press in 1883 or 1884.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 267 square miles (690 km 2), of which 267 square miles (690 km 2) is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km 2) (0.08%) is water. [5] It is the smallest county in Missouri by area. Iowa is located to the north of Worth County.
