Shamrock Township was created between 1876 and 1897, per official county maps from these two years, from the northeast 1/4 (approximately) of what before then was a much larger Nine Mile Prairie Township.
In 1783, Thomas Edward Callaway and his family moved to the state of Georgia from Halifax County, Virginia (by way of North Carolina). Celia (c. 1835 - December 21, 1855) was a slave found guilty of the first-degree murder of Robert Newsom, her master, in Callaway County, Missouri.Her defense team, led by John Jameson, argued an affirmative defense: Celia killed Robert Newsom by accident in self-defense to stop Newsom from raping her, which was a controversial argument at the time. The Custer County Courthouse in Callaway, Nebraska was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as First Custer County Courthouse in 1990. It was built in 1876. It was moved to its current location in 1933. It is located at Pacific St. and Cameron Ave. in Callaway. References
