Created as Arkansas's 11th county on October 20, 1825, Conway County has four incorporated municipalities, including Morrilton, the county seat and most populous city. The county is also the site of numerous unincorporated communities and ghost towns.

Lake Conway is the largest lake ever created by a state wildlife commission and the first to be created by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Lake Conway is located directly east of Mayflower, Arkansas, and just a few miles southeast of Conway, Arkansas.
Added to NRHP. December 22, 1982. The Frauenthal House is a historic house in Conway, Arkansas. It was designed by Charles L. Thompson and built in 1913, exhibiting a combination of Colonial Revival, Georgian Revival, and Craftsman styling. It is a two-story brick building, topped by a gabled tile roof with exposed rafter ends in the eaves.
