Geography. Conneaut Township is in western Crawford County, bordered to the west by Ashtabula County, Ohio. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 41.7 square miles (107.9 km 2), of which 40.9 square miles (105.9 km 2) is land and 0.77 square miles (2.0 km 2), or 1.88%, is water. Beyond the landing, the canal turned northwest and flowed into the lake.
