Jan 4, 2020. on iOS, to totally sign out of Google Maps, you will need to remove your Google account from the iOS main settings 'Accounts & Passwords'. This will also remove your account in other Google apps. Alternatively, you can switch to using Google Maps without an Account:

Google user. Jan 31, 2020. I found this in a YouTube video as a solution: Android Samsung S8 – S10: Turn off Picture-In-Picture allowed in the Google Maps app. Settings>Apps>Maps (Goggle)>Advanced catetory>Picture-in-picture>Allow permission: TURN OFF.
