I have a similar problem where google maps wants me to take 10 miles of gravel roads. It's quite a nuisance to have to add a different stop along the way every time i want to map out a route. it would be nice to have a setting that avoided specific roads that you could choose, or at least certain classes of roads (like gravel roads).
There wasnt a symbol on the map to indicate the road was still closed; I approached the route and found it was still closed due to road construction. Flash Platinum Product Expert
