Bandon (/ ˈbændən /) is a city in Coos County, Oregon, United States, on the south side of the mouth of the Coquille River. It was named by George Bennet, an Irish peer, who settled nearby in 1873 and named the town after Bandon in Ireland, his hometown. The population was 3,066 at the 2010 census [5] and by the 2020 census it was 3,321.

[1] Out of over 90,000 National Register sites nationwide, [2] Oregon is home to over 2,000, [3] and 54 of those are found in Coos County. Bandon Dunes was also the site of the 2019 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball. Old Macdonald's was the primary course used for the event, with Pacific Dunes also used. In 2020, the resort hosted the U.S. Amateur for the first time. Bandon Dunes was the primary course, with Bandon Trails used as the second course for the stroke-play portion of the event. [18]
