Interstate 215. Interstate 215 (I-215) is a 54.5-mile-long (87.7 km) north–south auxiliary Interstate Highway in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. It has portions designated as the Barstow, Escondido, and Armed Forces Freeways. I-215 is a bypass auxiliary route of I-15, running from Murrieta to northern San Bernardino.
The Wilbur Cross Parkway, eastbound, takes over the Merritt's sequential numbering. Freeway sections of US 7 also use sequential numbering. Exit numbers on Routes 9 and 72 were changes to mile-based numbering in February 2023. Routes 8 and 25 are the next freeways to be changed to mile-based exit numbers, slated for late 2023 or 2024.
