Incofer (Instituto Costarricense de Ferrocarriles) is the autonomous institution that owns and operates the national railway infrastructure and services in Costa Rica. It has a history of building and electrifying the transcontinental railway from Limón to Puntarenas, and now runs commuter trains in the Central Valley.
